Moody Graham Landscape Architecture

Ryan Moody, ASLA | Jay Graham, FASLA

Moody Graham Landscape Architecture was formed in spring 2016, uniting DC-based Moody Landscape Architecture and Annapolis-based Graham Landscape Architecture. Principals Ryan Moody and Jay Graham “expect the energy of MLA and the experience of GLA to create a sum greater than its parts,” Moody says. “We look forward to serving our clients with respect, care for the landscape and dedication to our craft.”

The firm focuses on landscape architecture, garden design and ecological planning. “Our philosophy is ‘honest design’—strikingly beautiful landscapes that address environmental and social disconnects from the land,” Moody explains. “Tenets include strong architectural bones, layers of garden habitat, four seasons of interest, rainwater responsibility and biophilic design.”

Moody Graham’s strength lies in their focus on “listening, translating clients’ desires and deciphering the landscape’s potential,” Graham says. “We create multiple concepts to hone in on the best solution, working cohesively through landscape installation and beyond.”

Jay Graham has received more than a dozen ASLA Maryland chapter awards, including the 2015 Award of Excellence.
